Scrap Shotz October 2016 Kit Reveal...Extras!

Hello All!

I missed posting a couple of my kit projects over on the Scrap Shotz blog so I thought I would share them here. You can head over to the blog to see the first group of projects.

There were 2 patterned papers in this kit that screamed Christmas card to me and I also wanted to put my new MFT yeti stamps to use:

I shaded the beast with Copic markers and die cut using the matching dies. 2 strips of the kit washi tape and Nuvo Crystal drops in clear, gold and autumn red finish it off.

I made a number of cards using card sketches from Operation Write Home and the kit add on 6x6 paper pack. I made a grand total of 11 cards and barely put a dent in the paper pack.

This kit also includes a sheet of paper printed with 3"x4" cards and immediately this card would work perfectly for these ski photos.

Love these copper-y Thickers, just the perfect size for titles. I am sure you can tell I am in love with these Nuvo Crystal Drops as they make an appearance on yet another project of mine ;).

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at these but it's not over yet!
Head over to the Scrap Shotz blog for the last project...I promise no more for October, I have to get started on November projects shortly :).
As always, you can see what the entire DT has done with kit here in the Scrap Shotz gallery.

Scrapshotz September 2016 Kit Project Reveal

Hello!

It was busy for me getting these kit projects completed in between trips, I've been out of the country in August, September and October, this is DEFINITELY out of the ordinary around here.

September's kit featured the brand new Indigo Hills line by Pinkfresh Studio, a lovely line, super easy to design with. Here is the last layout I created with the kit, I actually still have one 12x12 sheet of paper left even after 5 layouts and 4 cards:

Beautiful {September} Magic, Amazing

This is such a great line of papers which easily make your photos the star of the layout. I used off cuts of patterned papers, placing them on kit white card stock. The photos were printed with the Polaroid Zero Ink printer. You can see all my Scrapshotz September kit projects over at the Scrapshotz blog so click the link and head on over!

Thanks for popping in :)

One Stamp Set, Two Ways

Hello!
I have returned from a wonderful family vacation and have 2 cards to share, both using the same stamp set each a unique look.

{supplies: Oriental Orchid stamp set-Altenew, Ink-Altenew, die cut frame-Elizabeth Craft Designs, vellum from my stash}

I stamped a series of orchids on card stock layering from the lightest ink to the darkest shade in the set of 4 inks.

I fussy cut each bloom and then arranged them in 3 rows of 3 on kraft card stock, I wasn't entirely thrilled with the result so I topped the arrangement with a piece of vellum and some American Crafts glitter. The die cut frame hides the adhesive used to adhere the vellum to the card stock.

The card is finished off with the thank you sentiment from the stamp set stamped in Versamark black ink and embossed with Ranger clear embossing powder.

{supplies: Altenew Ink and Oriental Orchid stamp set; American Crafts glitter paper; Versamark black ink; Nuvo glitter drops}

I experimented with layering different shades from the Altenew Red Sunset ink set. The flower centers are stamped with the Mango Smoothie ink from the Altenew 4 Scoops ink set. The glitter paper anchors the main sentiment and Nuvo Glitter drops in Silver Moondust complete the card.

Thanks for stopping in :)

Beautiful Details...

Beautiful Details is a class all about adding details to your stamped images, specifically floral images, offered by Altenew Academy this past June. I don't consider myself an artist so this class will definitely be a challenge for me.  Here is the first card I made:

I colored the stamp with Zig Clean Color markers in 2 different shades of gray, then added the "details" with a black Copic Multiliner, this technique is all about loose lines, so I tried my hardest not to "correct" my dark lines. I added some Grey Flannel Pico Embellisher dots and Nuvo Red Berry Crystal Drops to complete this card.

Here is another card I made but using the lovely yellow Altenew inks:

I 'outlined' the Vintage Flower stamped images with a Copic Multiliner black pen and embellished the card with gold and black sequins.

I am looking forward to completing the other lessons in this online class, hope they have the same lovely results as these cards :).

Adventure Awaits

Thanks for stopping in to see this layout from our December 2014 Hawaiian Vacation.

The Kaisercraft 'Coastal Escape' line is perfect for seashore photos. The Silhouette cut file that resembles fishing netting is another great element to these Pacific seaside photos which I embellished with 'Coastal Escape' stickers, enamel dots and twine from my stash.

All these supplies were easy to obtain via special order from info@scrapshotz.comSandy at Scrap Shotz so don't hesitate to ask for what you see here or are wishing for ;).

A Layout to Share...

Hello and welcome here!

I am up on the Scrap Shotz Snap Shotz blog with my April kit projects. Can you guess how many projects I created? You'll have to pop on over to the blog to see the final tally :).

In the meantime, here is a layout I created a little bit ago during a round of layout tag at Scrap Shotz:

Sorry I can't recall the source for all the supplies. The football is a Jolee's Boutique sticker, the alphas are Jillibean Soup.

Color Burst Background

Hello,

Here to share with you a card created using the Ken Oliver Color Burst powders. They are super simple to use and a lot of fun as well.

I sprayed a piece of watercolor paper with water and sprinkled powders from the brights collection, I believe I used the yellow shade and the crimson shade, then sprayed a bit more water and set aside to dry. A little goes a long way so it's best to use sparingly and add more if desired.
I then die cut the paper with a Sizzix-Tim Holtz mixed media thinlet die and voila, an eye catching, easy background. It takes longer for the paper to dry than it does to assemble the card ;).
The birds are the super cute Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamps, regular size and mini. Do you need the mini? Nope, but you'll make use of them if you have them, so I tell myself to justify the purchase ;)).

A few flowers, sequins and the sentiment from the regular Bird Crazy stamp set and the card is done.
This card was created a part of Card Tag a challenge over at Scrap Shotz, they will be going up on the blog soon so keep checking in there for card challenges.sc

Thanks for taking a look and have a wonderful day!

Happy Spring!

Hello!

The sun is shining and we are in for warmer temperatures in my part of the world today.
I hope spring is on it's way to you very soon if it hasn't made it's arrival yet in your area :).

We just finished a round of layout tag over at Scrap Shotz. It's a monthly challenge we do where the first person creates their layout based on an inspiration piece and then "tags" the next person in line with their completed layout and so on.

Here's the layout I created

I used the the lovely Scrap Shotz March monthly kit for this one, it's perfect for spring photos, fresh and happy.
These birds on a wire are from the Felicity stamp set collection by Pinkfresh.
The swipes of colour were created with the new Tim Holtz Distress Watercolour Crayons. I haven't used them much yet but the colours in this set were perfect for this spring-y page. I also used some yellow under the title 'spring'.

Another round of layout tag is beginning at Scrap Shotz you click on the link to join, the more the merrier!!

Thanks for taking the time stop by.

Scrap Shotz February Kit Project Reveal

Dusting off the ol' blog and sharing my projects from the February 2016 Scrap Shotz Monthly Kit featuring Life In Color by Simple Stories.

I'll start the show and tell with this layout based on a Pagemaps sketch:

This next layout showcases a new product included in this kit, Nuvo glitter drops:

I created a custom border of glitter drops and 'highlighted' one of sticker elements by 'framing' it with glitter drops.

Here is my first Project Life layout of the year, yes I started with February, will get to January eventually ;) :

The kit includes a few papers with 3x4, 4x6, 4x4, etc. printed elements. These work great in pocket scrapbooking and also for cards. These next 2 cards use a 4x4 cut out on one and a 3x4 cut out on the other.

Another easy way to make a card is by using a chipboard piece that already has a 'sentiment' printed on it. This card came together quickly:

The flower was fussy cut from a scrap of patterned paper, accented with Glossy Accents and then framed with a chipboard frame.

The kit also includes a package of sticker sheets and they have a number of great stickers such as the small flags on the left side of this layout which I also accented with enamel dots from the kit.

I decided to go back to a paper planner especially after seeing all the great planner products available so why not use some kit products?

Here's my March monthly spread:

I added strips of paper from the kit across the top and embellished it with Nuvo Glitter Drops. I've added stickers from the sticker sheets and some chipboard pieces.

I again used stickers from the sticker sheet and also glitter drops on this weekly spread along with paper strips. It's easy to use up scraps on a planner spread.

Now we come to the final layout, I think this one is my favourite. I love the mix of patterns!

That's it for my February kit projects. Head to the Scrap Shotz gallery to see what my talented Creative Team member Lorraine has done with this kit.

The Scrap Shotz March kit and add-ons are up, it features the beautiful Felicity collection by Pinkfresh Studios.

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrap Shotz November and December 2015 Kit Reveal!!

Hello and Happy New Year!

I'm playing catch up with my Scrap Shotz November kit projects and also bringing you my December '15 kit projects. In order to keep this post from getting too long I will keep my comments/description of the projects to a minimum, please, please email me or comment on this post if you have any questions :).

Let's begin with the November kit which features My Mind's Eye "My Story".

This gold arrow paper is my favourite paper in this kit!

This layout was our DT sketch project based on this Pagemaps sketch:

It's hard to see all the gold foil in these pictures but take my word for it, it's there and it's lovely!

Now on to the Scrap Shotz December 2015 kit featuring Bo Bunny 'Whiteout'

This mini album was created with the emphemera package included in the kit and that pack is loaded with product! So much I didn't use all of it in this album, some of it is on a couple of layouts with leftovers too.
Would love to have you browse the gallery and see the lovely projects my fellow CT member Lorraine created.

The January 2016 kit is in the store and it features the brand new Kaisercraft #Me line:

I am looking forward to working with this one! Click on the January 2016 kit link above for a full listing of what's in the kit.

Thanks for stopping in!
