SEI Link Party

I've been out of town for the last 10 days so haven't blogged at all. I was at Creative Escape in Arizona and had a fabulous time! I'll be posting my projects here as I complete them but I did complete this layout for the SEI Link Party before I left.

Another fun sketch by Julie Bonner which worked perfectly for these photos I've had sitting around for some time, I don't even have these highlights anymore ;).

Thanks for taking a look!

Creative Escape, I'm on my Way!

I'm off to the airport shortly for the blistering heat of Arizona. Excited for the trip and looking forward to Creative Escape. The forecast has temperatures in the 40's so thank goodness for air conditioning. I definitely won't be wearing long pants! As promised the other day, I am sharing some of my latest layouts:

The quote says "The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."- Dr.Seuss.
Use a bunch of Cosmo Cricket on this one. It's loosely based on a Sketchy Thursdays sketch as is the first layout.
That's a bit of what I've been up to lately on the crafting front. While the family has been away camping I've done lots of cleaning out and hanging up stuff on walls so they will be thrilled when they come home and see what I've done. I'll be back in about 10 days with lots to share from Creative Escape!

2 More Sleeps...

and I am off to Phoenix for 10 days of relaxation! Actually my main purpose is to attend Creative Escape, I've never been before and as this is the last one, I won't be going again ;) .
Who will I be going with you ask? Me, myself and I...I will not know anyone! Crazy?? Well, maybe a little, but I have gone to concerts and hockey games in the past by myself. Some things are once in a lifetime experiences and while it is TONNES of fun to enjoy with a friend, I won't let not being able to find someone to go with me keep me from the experience!
Besides, scrappers are a friendly bunch right???

Here's a layout I made for the August Layout Tag at Scrapshotz:

all supplies are from a Scrapshotz monthly kit!

I'll pop in tomorrow with a few more layouts before I head off on vacation!

Sketchy Thursdays 8.11

This fantastic sketch

inspired this layout

I used Basic Grey "Out of Print" patterned paper, Kaisercraft and Chatterbox alphas and buttons from Making Memories. I also used Glimmer Mist in "Electric Blue". I so love how this turned out! Makes me smile when I look at it.
Thanks for taking a look :)

No Reading at the Table...

That was the rule in my home when I was a kid but like I've shared in the layout below, we all love reading too much to enforce this in our home. We try to keep at least dinner book free, most of the time ;) . I used this sketch which is for an opportunity to be the guest designer for Sketchy Thursdays in September.

I actually made 3 different layouts based on this sketch(I love it so much!) and this is the one that meets all the criteria for the GDT layout submission :).

I stuck really close to the sketch and kept it super simple and I love how this layout turned out.

Thanks for taking a look!

Sketchy Thursdays 8.4

This great sketch

inspired me to create this layout

I used some Shimmerz and Glimmermist, Echo Park and Basic Grey patterned paper, Thickers, Glitz alphas, Making Memories flowers and button and The Twinery twine. Now if I could just get the hang of taking a straight photo of my layouts...
Thanks for taking a look :)

Knee Deep...

...in photo editing! I've spent the past week working on my WITL photos and just uploaded the images for printing! So happy to get those off to the printers along with all my July photos so I am officially caught up on my photo printing! Lots of photos to be inspired to scrap, that's for sure!

I used Ali Edwards digital kit from 2010 to put these together and after her great tutorial using PSE 9, it still took a bunch of time but was much less frustrating than the evening I spent trying to use PSE 9 before watching her tutorial.

Here are the first few days of the week in their final form:

I plan to place patterned paper over top of some of the squares. There's no way I would not be able to add some touches to this project ;)
