Scrap Shotz May Kit Reveal!!!!

Hello!!
This post is coming late, my apologies, this month's kit reveal conincided with the Scrap Shotz NSD crop so I was a "mad scrapper" working on projects for both events.

The May Scrap Shotz kit features the "Suave" line by Authentique:

Click on the link above to see the kit details.

This first project is based on our creative team sketch created by Jess Duerksen and just happens to be my May Design Team challenge sample:

The "good times" title is one of the new Tim Holtz shadow press embossing folders that I inked with distress ink and then ran through my Vagabond. The green dots are made with a Tim Holtz stencil and Art Anthology dimensional paint. My May Design Team challenge uses the stencil so feel free to click on the link and play along with us at the Scrap Shotz forum :).

These bookmarks feature the Taylored Expressions "Mark Your Spot" stamp  and the Tim Holtz Frameworks die in addition to the May Scrap Shotz kit. I die cut the tags with a Tim Holtz die and inked with vintage photo Distress Ink.

This layout showcases our May feature product, the die cut stars. I used the "super" star as a mask to mist over the patterned paper background, I applied Glossy Accents to the letters of the "super" die cut as well as filling in the negative space on the misted die cuts themselves.

The mini-hexagon border is a die-version die?? I can't find it in the store so I am guessing, please email me if you want to know for sure and I will get you the info asap :). This is a super simple card but it does the job! The sentiment is peel-off words from Elizabeth Craft.

This paper was perfect for some nature photos from the Coulee running behind our home and the kit alphas add the perfect pop of colour!

You can see what the entire design team created in the Scrap Shotz Gallery

Thanks for taking a look :))

Lately....

I've been super busy with taxes, business bookkeeping and volunteer committments along with kids activities.
I have scrapbooking on my mind on the eve of National Scrapbooking Day. I am attending the Scrap Shotz NSD crop here in Calgary tomorrow. I  am in the throes of planning and packing the projects I want to work on-layout challenges, Project Life and catching up on the backlog of printed photos awaiting scrapping.

Here are a few layouts I haven't had a chance to share here until now:

This was my layout from the SSZ February layout tag and I used the SSZ December'12 kit for this.

Next is this layout using the SSZ February 2013 kit, I LOVE these kits, packed full of product!!
This last layout is was created with my stash items that are 1 year old which was a twist on the Scrap Shotz April layout tag.
I have the last few weeks of Project Life to work on tomorrow so be on the lookout for a few PL posts shortly, I think my last PL post was week 7 so I have lots of posts to share!!!

Thanks for looking!

play in the Park

The Scrap Shotz February kit is chock full of brand new Aunthentique and is just lovely. I printed my photos in black and white to maintain the soft feel of the colour combo in the papers.

I misted the background with Mr.Huey's Lemonade & Powder Blue colour mist and inked the edges of the patterned papers and die cuts. The alphas included in the kit are the Sketchbook Thickers and they go so perfectly with the beautiful papers. I'm looking forward to creating more projects with this great kit!

December Daily-Thirteen

Today is about my daughter's band concert. These are not the best photos, I forgot my camera and has to use the iPad to take pictures. My daughter is shall we say "vertically challenged" so I had to take a photo of just the top her head showing when she switched positions to play different instruments.

This is my favorite page so far. I used Pink Paislee Artisan Elements frames to highlight my daughter in the photos. The embellies are a mix of the Studio Calico December Daily kit and Authentique die cuts.

Thanks for looking!

December Daily-Nine

As the Christmas decorations were now up we invited Grandpa & Grandma over for the afternoon and dinner.
We had a lovely time together :)

I just noticed the "y" fell off the page, I'll have to add a new one!

Scrap Shotz Summer Kit *Authentique* Pt.2

In my last post I shared the layouts I created with the fabulous SSZ Summer Kit. Today I have the cards I created!
Now I do not consider myself a card maker but as a Creative Team member I like to challenge myself to create a few for each kit reveal and this kit has one sheet of paper that begs to be cut and turned into cards!

This card front is cut directly from one of the kit patterned papers. I used the Easy Bow maker to make this fabulous bow!

This next card features one of the stickers as the sentiment.
On this card I misted the cardstock base with the Studio Calico mask included in the kit, fussy kit on of the patterned papers and attached a MME brad as a the card sentiment.
This card features the kit patterned papers and the washi tape as well. The banner flag is a sticker also included in the kit.
This is a super simple card featuring the washi tape along with one of the blossoms included in the kit as well.
This final card showcases that patterned paper I started out with. Another easy to create card!
So there you have my card creations from the Scrap Shotz Summer Kit and if me, a non-card maker, can make fabulous cards like these; imagine what a card making guru can do with this kit!

Thanks for looking!

The Scrap Shotz summer kit is full of lovely Authentique papers. The colours inspired me to scrap photos I have had sitting around for a couple of years. Here are the layouts I created:
