Sketchy Thursdays 1.5

This was one those times when everything came together quickly with a layout and I decided not to overthink it ;)

It's hard to see on the photo but that piece of silver cardstock has a lovely sheen to it. It has been sitting in my stash for 3 years now so it was nice finally put it to use. The brads were originally white but I sprayed them with Mr.Huey's Holly Berry to add a touch of colour and tie in the red in the Kaisercraft patterned paper. I've also used paper by LYB, Tim Holtz grungeboard shapes, and an Imaginisce fabric flower; the rub on is Lily Bee.

Thanks for looking!

Sketchy Thursdays 12.29

It's been awhile since I've played along at Sketchy Thursdays and I was looking forward to jumping back in to it! While this layout is by no means a masterpiece, it's done thanks to a great sketch!

I've used Aunthentique patterned paper, Bazzil cardstock along with a brad from My Minds Eye and flowers by Prima and Kaisercraft. These were all from a couple of different Scrapshotz monthly kits. The stamp is Studio Calico and the ribbon was an RAK from a friend :)

Sketchy Thursday 11.17

I've filed away this sketch for future use, it's fantastic! Went through my stash and chose some Bo Bunny. It took more time waiting for the mist and glimmer glaze to dry than putting the layout together ;)

Sketchy Thursday 11.10

Well I didn't think I'd be able to get to this sketch this week but thanks to such a great sketch I was able to knock this out fairly quickly.

I've used good old kraft cardstock for the base and layered some Cosmo Cricket circa 1934 patterned paper and stickers. The die cut sticker is topped off with an American Crafts badge I've had stuck to my desk lamp for over a year{insert embarassed expression here ;)}. The title is a KI Memories Scribble sticker.

Sketchy Thursday 11.3

My most favorite thing about Sketchy Thursdays is the fact that playing along means at least one layout will be completed that week ;) . It's great motivation to get scrapping! Here's my take on the current sketch:

I used some pieces from the Studio Calico Elementary collection, the cards are by October Afternoon and the stamp is Hero Arts for Studio Calico.

Sketchy Thursday 10.27

This weeks sketch was a perfect fit for the Scrapshotz online crop as one of the challenges was to incorporate a banner. Here's my layout using Teresa Collins paper and die cuts, American Crafts cardstock, The Twinery twine and Maya Road mist.

This fabulous sketch:

Inspired this layout:

I used a whole bunch of Little Yellow Bicycle with the addition of some pearls and twine. All the items are from a past Scrapshotz monthly kit. I had to use a wee of Glimmer Mist too.

Another great sketch from Sketchy Thursdays!

Sketchy Thursday 9.29

First chance I've had to play along with Sketchy Thursdays in awhile and I really enjoyed myself with this sketch:

and here is my layout:

I LOVED all the journaling room on this sketch and since my Scrapshotz October kit was handy I used the lovely SEI products in that kit along with some glimmer mist and an Imaginisce Roly Rosie fabric flower that I misted with the kit Pumpkin Patch glimmer mist.
Love that I was able to make this work with Lorraine's Scrapshotz October CT challenge as well.

Thanks for taking a look!

Sketchy Thursdays 9.08

I was away on vacation for a couple of weeks and wasn't able to play along with Sketchy Thursdays. Happy to play along this week. Another great sketch, but really, when are they bad or uninspiring?? Never for me!!
I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens and Mist; Fancy Pants patterned paper; EK Success border punches; Jenni Bowlin banner stickers; MME alphas misted with Maya Road mist; The Twinery twine and of course Bazzil cardstock. I used pop dots to raise the "Gift" title and banner stickers.

Another great sketch and so pleased to get this moment documented after almost a year!!!

journaling reads, "Uncle Jeff was excited to give Cole the gift he'd picked out for his birthday. Cole was thrilled with his Arizona Cardinals jersey. " Jan. '11

No Reading at the Table...

That was the rule in my home when I was a kid but like I've shared in the layout below, we all love reading too much to enforce this in our home. We try to keep at least dinner book free, most of the time ;) . I used this sketch which is for an opportunity to be the guest designer for Sketchy Thursdays in September.

I actually made 3 different layouts based on this sketch(I love it so much!) and this is the one that meets all the criteria for the GDT layout submission :).

I stuck really close to the sketch and kept it super simple and I love how this layout turned out.

Thanks for taking a look!

Sketchy Thursday 07.21

Here is my take on the latest sketch from Sketchy Thursday. I began with this:

I switched up my version changing the placement of the patterned paper background and came up with this:
I've used glimmer mist and some bits and pieces from my stash, a Crate Paper glitter border, The Twinery twine, Kaisercraft pearls, Jenni Bowlin rub on, Prima flower and a Heidi Swapp sticker. The journaling is written on the title card and hidden behind the photos. Another layout that came together quickly thanks to this great sketch!

Here is the two page sketch  from Sketchy Thursdays

and here is left side of my layout:

and the right side:

and both pages side by side:

I used the Simple Stories "Destination" line on a Bazzil kraft cardstock base. The alphas are stickers by LYB. The sketch worked great for our Spring Break photos!

Sketchy Thursday 06.23

The sketch made this layout come together super quick once I finally figured out what photos to use. I wanted to add few more details but I've run out of time. I'm happy with the final result.

I used patterned papers from Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket and Lily Bee. The bling are iRock glam rocks and alphas are My Mind's Eye and Glitz.

Below is the link to the sketch itself.

Sketchy Thursday 06.16

****EDITED**** SORRY COPIED THE WRONG LINK IF YOU WANT TO VIEW 07.07.11 LAYOUT CLICK HERE (07.07.LAYOUT)

I have been wanting to participate in Sketchy Thursday for quite awhile but haven't been able to get the layout done by the deadline. I so loved this past Thursday's sketch I made it my mission to get it completed, here is the sketch:
and here is the layout I came up with:

I used Bazzill kraft cardstock and patterned paper and sticker for the Simple Stories Elementary line. I misted the red circle with Maya Road Maya Mists. It took me two tries to get it right, I flipped the cardstock over to redo the misted ring after I majorly messed it up the first time ;) .
I hand stitched with Stampin'Up linen thread and finished off with the black brads from my stash.

This sketch worked great to document my daughter's school project. So glad with how this turned out!
