Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Sunburst Azalea Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

If you've arrived from the blog of Nenette S Madero you are in the right place and if you need to start back at the beginning of the blog hop you can head back to the Altenew Card Blog.

There are so many color possibilities with the Craft-A-Flower dies, I decided to ink watercolor paper with Sunkissed, Rouge, Cotton Candy, Purple Wine, Crimson, Paper Bag and Just Green Watercolor Brush Markers and then die cut with the CAF: Azalea dies.

I've layered the "petals" over the base with Instant Dimension Foam Tape.  The background is an A2 watercolor panel I picked up the leftover color from a previous project with and after watching this YouTube video decided to try and add gold foiling with the Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die. Now for a disclaimer, the hot foil machine I have is old-it's a Go Press and Foil I bought off Amazon a while ago and finally dusted off to give this a try so I have no experience with the current hot foil systems on the market.

The photo does not do justice to the beautiful gold shimmer on the card front.

Sentiment is die cut from Gold Foil card stock with the Essential Sentiments die set.

This time I inked white card stock with the following Crisp Dye inks:

-Base Layer-Sunkissed

-Second Layer-Sunkissed, Rouge and a little Dark Chocolate on the smaller bloom

-Stamen-Dark Chocolate, Rouge and Orange Crush

I covered a slightly smaller than 4" x 5 1/4" white card stock panel with Peach Gold Wide Washi tape then matted that on black card stock.

A hexagon is die cut from Gold Mirror card stock with the hexagon from the Geo Frame die set, then cut in half and layered underneath the CAF blooms.

Prior to adding the Rose Gold Crisp heat embossed sentiment, I splattered Jet Black Watercolor with the watercolor brush marker all over the panel.

Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Primrose Blossom Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Welcome here from Natasha Davies blog, I'm thrilled to join the Craft-A-Flower: Primrose Blossom Release!

The hop begins at the Altenew Card Blog so feel free to head back there at any time if you get lost along the way.

If you love this die set consider the Craft-A-Flower Monthly Subscription plan which guarantees you the monthly set at a discounted price!

CAF: Primrose Blossom

I've inked white card stock with Pink Diamond, Baby Pink, Razzleberry, Sunray, Lime, Sweet Leaf, Hunter Green and Minty Mint Crisp Dye Inks.

I used less than a full sheet of cardstock even using all these ink colors!

After gluing all the die cuts together I embossed watercolor cardstock with the the Blossoming Branches 3D Embossing Folder then added water and gave a light wash of Turquoise Watercolor Brush Marker. Once dry I added the die cuts and then some splatters with Jet Black and Desert Night Watercolor Brush Marker.

For the life of me I can not remember what hello die I used for this, I forgot to write it down, lol. A few clear drops add a nice bit of shine to the finished slimline card.

Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Cosmos

Hello! It's Altenew Craft-A-Flower release day!

Introducing....Craft-A-Flower: Cosmos!

Want to add Craft-A-Flower: Cosmos layering die set to your craft room?
Take advantage of the special price on a subscription:

You should have arrived here from  Preeti's blog.

If you haven't started at the Altenew Card blog you may want to return there to ensure you don't miss a stop and leave a comment at each blog for the chance to win a prize!

Each flower is unique on its own and these layered dies provide many opportunities to get a unique looking floral. I'm sharing 3 easy ways to "craft" your Cosmos flowers and really any 3D layered flower die.

Washi Tape

I applied all four colors of Tea Party washi tape to white card stock, this a great way to use those small leftovers we crafters tend to hang on to and often don't get around to using. Then cut the bottom layer from the lightest color of washi tape, the second layer from both the darker mid-tone and light mid-tone, and the third layer of the petal from the darkest tape.

The leaves are cut from scraps of green card stock in my stash and then both flowers and leaves are arranged within the negative space of a Stacked Diamonds Cover Die die cut that I partially cut from Gold Mirror card stock for a different project.

I hand drew a black line from the top of the die cut space to the bottom and embellished with black crystals from my stash after stamping the Best Sentiments stamp set.
Inked Papers

Inking white card stock is a super easy way to customize colors for your Craft A Flowers.

I inked white card stock first and then did all the die cutting. The colors used from left to right, bottom up are:

The flower centers are die cut from orange and yellow card stock. The flowers are then adhered to a piece of paper from the Summer Garden 6x6 paper pack.

The paper has a watercolor-y look so I used the Emerald Watercolor Brush Marker from the Winter Wonderland set to add watercolored stems by hand.
Lastly, the sentiment is heat embossed in Golden Peach Embossing Powder.

Patterned Paper

Patterned paper is another easy way to create unique looking floral layers. These layers are die cut from papers in the Blushing Blooms 6x6 Paper Pack

You want to choose patterns that range from light to dark to create the layers that are darker towards the center of the flower. I applied Iceberg ink through the Molded Lines Stencil to add some color to the background.

The vase is die cut with a die from the Mod Vases Die set out of paper in the Essential Rock Collection 6x6  Paper Pack.

The sentiment is from the Best Sentiments stamp set and a little bling from my stash completes the card.

I so appreciate you taking the time to stop by and leave a comment.
