Day Three...

So it's "hump day" in my Week In the Life project. I've been tempted to put my camera aside but I know this will be lots of fun to look back on. My morning began around 7:15am, I got up and began making lunches for the kids while Ray showered, he had an 8am meeting and then he was planning to come back home and drive the kids to school. I really am a blessed woman, I don't HAVE to have a job to provide my family, I can go to the grocery store anytime

I am able to pay a wonderful, lovely lady named Vangie to clean my home for me so I can focus my time on my kids, I wish I had taken a picture of her, she is so sweet, I'm really growing to love her!

I squeezed in  a workout, HipHopAbs by Shaun T, a great workout in spite of the name, a quick shower and then in the van to the grocery as you can see by the photo above, we went to Superstore first and then WalMart to buy the rest of the items. We headed home and Cole lovingly carried the cheese inside and then hung on to it until I took it from hime to give hime some for lunch. One of the best parts of my day was being able to give Vangie some Christian music CD's that I had uploaded to my computer so I did not need the cd's anymore. She was so greatful, what a lovely receiveing heart she had.

Thankfully, Cole slept for an hour and then he woke up when Peyton came home

drank a bottle and hopped in the van to pick up the boys from band clinic. We came home and Jack helped me with supper by chopping the mushrooms. We ate pasta, muchroom & tomato sauce and bacon for supper. It was very yummy. Cole was very grumpy today since he had not had a nap yesterday and today was a short nap because I had to pick up the boys from their band clinic.

We went home and Jack helped me cook supper by cutting up all the mushrooms, I cut the bacon, onion and garlic and cooked the ricotta/sundried tomato tortillini and the bacon which I think the kids enjoyed the most!

Cole was grumpy all night, I took him out for a short time but he began screaming so I had to take him inside. Blake practiced hitting off the tee and playing basketball. Jack didn't get to go outside but he jumped in the bathtub with Cole. Jack is a WONDERFUL big brother to Cole. Cole wanted to spend all his time in Jack and Blake's bed rather than his crib. Our family is so blessed to have Cole in it

Jack went to the tub with Cole and they both had a great time! I put Peyton to bed since she said her stomach was aching and then tried to get the boys through the tub quickly. The boys all hopped into bed, Cole with a bottle and 20 min. later I came upstairs to pray with them and turn out the lights. Cole was not very happy. He wanted to sit in the rocking chair, drink another bottle, anything but go to bed! An hour later he was still awake and he went to sleep after daddy gave him another cuddle and a bottle.

Day Two...

Is drawing to a close. I am watching The Biggest Loser and sipping a glass of wine while I recap today.

The day began a little later for me aas I slept in until 7:30am. I've injured my left knee somehow, it has been very swollen the last couple of days so I woke up this morning and iced it down right away.

After the ice it was time for breakfast, Kashi GoLean Crunch, it's tasty cereal! Then it was off to the computer to check email and pay some bills then to Sobey's

to buy the snack for our Small Group meeting at the Stagg's tonight. Then it was more laundry

and putting the mattress pad and blankets back on Peyton's bed and then putting toilet paper in all the bathrooms. I also made a phone call to my friend who got stuck in Germany due to the ash from the Icelandic volcano. She's not home yet but expected in the next day. Then back to the couch to ice my knee again. Ray took Cole and went to the bottle depot and then to Wendy's for lunch with Cole. He then played with Cole a bit since he asked for the "ball, ball"-the football in this case.

He put Cole down for his nap and we both hoped he would sleep because Cole and I were going to be picking the kids up from school today.

I basically read

and iced my knee until it was time to pick up the kids. Oh I did manage to spend a wee bit of time planning my next scrapbook lo. It's the March installment of Project 12 which is based on this sketch

Surprise, surprise-Cole didn't sleep, I did have to change his poopy bum during naptime too, that's probably why he didn't sleep. I got him up, fed him a banana and then we hopped in the van went to pick the kids up at Brentwood.

It has been a beautiful day today! 21c and sunny all day! We came home and I hit the couch to ice my knee and enjoy a latte, the boys got their books out, even Cole to read

and Peyton got started on her homework

. We took all the leftovers out of the fridge and everyone ate when they wanted. Blake and Jack even cooked their own eggs!

Both boys got going on their homework and I watched most of American Idol until it was time to leave for Small Group. We had a great meeting at Small Group, our group received $750.00 for our project to raise money and awareness for Human Trafficking. You can find out more about that here: http://www.stopthetraffic.ca/
We discussed and prayed about our idea which will be some sort of fundraising evening involving entertainment, a video about human trafficking and a speaker. It was great to see Paul and Bev there and I had a wonderful conversation with Bev and we added each other to our Blackberry Messenger application.

So that was Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Oh, I hope I remember to fill out the boys band clinic forms tonight. I better do that next!

A Week In My Life...

April 19, 2010

Today I'm jumping on the bandwagon, the Ali Edwards bandwagon to document the next 7 days of my life!

What is it? Well it's basically a minibook scrapbook project of a week in my life and the life of my family of course.

You can find out more about the details here http://www.aliedwards.typepad.com/

I'm going to attempt a few firsts with this. My album will be 81/2x11 rather than my typical 12x12 and I am going to venture into the world of digital scrapbooking! Wish me luck on that! I'm also planning to blog about this week so I (a) don't forget what we've done this week and (b) use my blog!!

Today was a very average day in our life. Up at 7am, I read my bible, wrote in my journal a bit and made my kids lunches. Cole had his usual fit when the kids left for school, Ray drove them to the bus stop so I calmed him down with a bottle-of milk of course! Then it was tackling my usual morning and Monday activities, cleaning the kitchen, going through the unopened mail, checking email, responding to any RSVP's and printing out the children's homework and I watched the first video for the bible study, "Jesus the One and Only" that I am doing with Britt beginning this week. Since Cole has not been napping very well lately I wanted to get him to sleep for a nap earlier in the day so I gave him a bottle and put him to bed around 11:30am. Ray came home for lunch and I slid out to pick up photos and buy an SD card and a baseball bag for Blake. I arrived back home at 1pm and Cole was still awake!! Ray took him out of bed, changed his diaper and gave him a bottle and laid him down again. I took some time to read my book "Hawaii" by James Michener and then decided to lie down for a bit. Cole was still awake at 2pm. By 2:30pm when he was still awake and I decided to go exercise I was ticked off and I went into his room and shouted at him, "You stop fooling around and go to sleep now, right now!" Cole said "Okay" and went to sleep. Hmmm, didn't think it would be that simple. He slept until 5:30pm when I woke him up.

Our supper menu tonight was ham, corn and rice-wild for me and white for the rest of the gang. I had planned to cook asparagus too but it was already rotting even though the best before date wasn't until April 23rd. The boys are all outside right now practicing hitting, throwing and catching in preparation for baseball season. I'm off to tuck Peyton in to bed, she was back at school today for the first time since last Wednesday. She'd been sick with a stomach and I think a full day of school has really tired her out today so she says she doesn't feel well so it's aa early bedtime for her tonight!

This project just may bore everyone to tears, lol! It's such a beautiful evening outside tonight, I'm so very grateful that Ray can send some time with the boys outside tonight. He's a great dad and wonderful husband!
