Altenew March 2022 Folktales & StoriesCollection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Oh yes there is an amazing amount of fabulous inspiration in this massive blog hop.

Thank you Teresa Litchfield for relaying folks here and you can head back to the Altenew Blog at any time if you wish to revisit inspiration.

I may have gone a little crazy creating projects for this release so lets jump right in!

Rosy Blooms Stamp and Die/Endless Fluorescence Stamp and Die

The large images in the Rosy Blooms stamp and die set as well  Endless Florescence set are wonderful for a scrapbook layout so you can get more use out of your stamps beyond cardmaking.

I started by choosing the "Always" paper from the Altenew/Pinkfresh Studio 'Celebrate' collaboration. This gave me the colors I would use for the blooms and foliage.

I stamped the blooms and leaves from the Rosy Blooms stamp set on Altenew watercolor paper in Antique Gold Pigment ink, then heat embossed with Crystal Clear Embossing powder. As there was quite a bit of ink on the stamps, I randomly stamped some of the images directly on the patterned paper, you can just make out the "ghosted" images.

I also stamped the Endless Florescence image in the area just under the photo.

Here's a close up look at that image which I lightly added color to with Altenew Artist Markers in C001, R101 and G702 Frayed leaf.

The embossed images are colored with Rouge, Moss, Sweet Leaf, Cotton Candy and Mango Smoothie watercolor brush markers then die cut with the coordinating die.

I then arranged the blooms around the stamped image and the matted photo, tucking some behind the matted photo and cardstock and popping up others with Instant Dimension Foam tape.

Um, I have to admit that I've had this Invisible alphabet set for what seems like forever, in fact, it isn't even available anymore and if this is not the first time I've used it, it certainly is only the second, I love how the title turned out!
I've matted the entire layout on black card stock and used the Fineliner Pen set for hand journaling and to outline around the edges of the layout.

The Endless Florescence stamp is a large image great for a slimline card! I've stamped it in Jet Black Crisp Dye ink and then colored with Woodless Coloring Pencils after adding in the shadowed areas with Artist Markers.
I then added small dots with the finetip of the Altenew Hawaiian Shores Brush and Finetip Markers to deepen the shadowed areas.

I stamped the sentiment directly over the colored image in Obsidian Pigment Ink to keep this a one layer card front. I also pencil colored the entire background with the light blue

Geometric Botany Background Stamp

I LOVE two-fer cards...that means creating two cards from one card front panel for me. I started by heat embossing the Geometric Botany Background stamp with Obisidian Pigment Ink and Crystal Clear Embossing powder on kraft card stock. I then pencil colored the background with Woodless Coloring Pencils and once completed, die cut the center of the A2 panel with a die from the Rounded Rectangles die.

I created the shaker card with Instant Dimension Foam tape and acetate and sequins from my stash. I stamped, heat embossed and die cut one of the leaves from the Rosy Bloom set on green card stock, adding some shading with the Frayed Leaf Artist Marker and then "framed" the frame with the leaf. The sentiment is from the Simple Sentiments 2 and is stamped on the kraft background before assembling the shaker.

For the second card I embossed an A2 kraft panel with the Organic Linen 3D embossing folder, then inked the raised area with Mixed Media Evergreen ink. The rectangle is then popped up with Instant Dimension Foam tape in the center adding two leaves stamped and die cut from the Rosy Blooms set to the corners. Sentiment is from the Simple Sentiments 2 set.

I played a lot with the Altenew Pigment inks this release and the following card was super easy!

After treating navy blue card stock with an anti static tool I stamped the leaves and sentiment from the Rosy Blooms set in Enchanted Gold Pigment ink, then coated with Crystal Clear Embossing powder and heat set.

For this next card I wanted to try out tea bag folding so I decided to create my own patterned paper by stamping the Geometric Botany stamp on HP copy paper with Antique Gold Pigment Ink. The copy paper makes it much easier to do the folds.

I used one of the stamped sheets for the background and then layered the tea-bag folded element on Gold Foil card stock, then matted on black card stock, the gem is from my stash.

Lastly, I stamped and heat the embossed a sentiment from the Rosy Blooms set in Obsidian Pigment ink and Crystal Clear Embossing Powder.

We've reached the last project and thanks for hanging in. I think this might be my favorite one!

Honestly the cats in Cat Life are so sweet! As soon as I saw this guy I know I wanted to have him stretching out after waking up from his nap in front of the fireplace.

One of the best things about this set is you can customize your cats to match your furry feline friends.

I stamped the cat's markings with the stamp in the set and then added colored pencil details for the shadows and to create the texture of fur. The "wallpaper" is from the Wildflower 6x6 paper pack and I created the fireplace with paper from the Essentials 6x6 paper pack and the Modern Fireplace Die Set. The kraft card stock is embossed with the Deck Planks 3D embossing folder to create the hardwood floor.

Thanks for taking a look at my projects and don't forget to check out these free gifts with purchase from the newest release!
