Home For The Holidays Blog Hop!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the Home for the Holidays Blog Hop!

It was so much fun to create a holiday project just for this occasion and as I have 5 Iris/Micheal's cases full of Christmas themed product this was a great opportunity to use some of it up!

I decided to repurpose an apothecary jar I used for a different project a number of years ago.

I began by cutting a white card stock circle, tracing it from the outside of the jar fo the base piece. The fact it didn't fit inside perfectly was great as I added Prima Snowflake paste to the peaks of the base to mimic snowdrifts.

I also added a piece of white card stock I spritzed with water and scrunched in my hands, adding snowflake paste along the top of it to the front of the jar to fill in the area and also create another snow drift. Another water spritzed, shaped and 'pasted' piece of card stock is the resting area for the first bottle brush tree on the right.

The large glitter snowflake is a die cut from the Merry & Bright Pink Paislee collection, I tied fishing line around it and adhered it to the inside top of the jar.

Here's a closer look at the paste along with the bottle brush trees, Fancy Pants from my copious Christmas stash ;). The large Christmas tree is hand cut from the paper base of the previous project I had in the jar and a mischievous elf from the Mama Elephant Elf Agenda is hanging from the top of the tree by his candy cane.

The Mama Elephant elves are frolicking in the snow enjoying winter fun with a snowman from the the Studio Katia Happy Snowman stamp set. I added Studio Calico wood veneer trees from my stash along the 'tree line' behind the snowman and scattered around the base.

Here's the view down into the jar from the top.

This was a very fun project to create and a fun decoration to add to my Christmas collection.
