December Daily 2013 #Day3

Welcome to Day 3! One of my favourite things about this project is the opportunities it provides to share my personal memories, day-to-day living or hopes and wishes for the future :).

Now before anyone thinks day 3 is a well written masterpiece let me disabuse you of that ;)).
There may be some of that later but not today. Day 3 touches on food, a small thought about the big meals to come and what our main meal of the day was for this particular day in December.

Thanks for popping in!

December Daily 2013 #daytwo

We spent all day yesterday under a blizzard warning for our area. Strong winds, blowing snow and temperatures well below zero. The kids all went to school except the youngest so day two is all about that.
I had fun with this as I had some sparkly fluff on my work table from some Christmas cards I had made so I sealed it inside the page protector to look like snow :).

I embellished with a few TC sequins and a die cut along with some Momenta metal snowflakes.

Thanks for looking!

December Daily 2013 #DayOne

**If you're stopping by to see my SOUS post please scroll down or click the tab above**

Hello, today begins my 5th year of December Daily and another year of Journal Your Christmas.
I'm using JYC for photo and journal prompts which works great  for days that I may not have a story to tell about our day. The past few years I have used the SC December Daily kit but I decided not to purchase it this year since I have a massive supply of Christmas product on hand.
I'm using a 6x6 WRMK album and various Teresa Collins, October Afternoon, Studio Calico, AC, Maya Road and Bazzil product.

Here's Day One, the signs of the Christmas season now upon us, click on the image to make it larger:

Stuck On You Sketches-December 2-Project Life

Hello and welcome to my very first SOUS Project Life Design Team post!
Welcome to week 43 and the scallop circle challenge:

{PL Clementine & Midnight core kit; Ruby RockIt patterned paper; Prima wood buttons}

I designed the bottom left filler card with the scallop circle layed over top of a punched circle and doily cut to fit the 4x6 grid paper. I finished it off with a circle and heart wood button.

Everyday Life...

The majority of my scrapbooking layouts focus on day-to-day events in our lives. It's funny but when we have a big family event like Easter, Christmas or a birthday I forget to take photos.
If I'm being honest, I can get tired of trying to find a new way to scrapbook those yearly events, maybe I need to challenge myself on those layouts next year???

In the meantime, here are a couple of recent layouts:

Stuffie Time
{supplies: Teresa Collins Memories, Prima Say It In Crystals}

Mess Up Hair
{supplies: past SC kit, OA}

Bedtime Story

On a scrapbooking weekend I basically threw a bunch of unused kits in my bag along with photos and limited myself to only those scrappy items. It sure made me productive not having my entire scrappy room to waste time searching for the "perfect" paper, colour, etc.
I comleted 19 layouts!! I didn't photograph them because, quite frankly, I was too lazy ;) so I'll be sharing just a few of them here :)).

This layout was for this challenge over at Scrap Shotz:

These papers just popped on the white, love how it turned out!

Scrap Shotz November Kit Reveal

Good Day All!

The Creative Team at Scrap Shotz unveiled our November kit projects just this past Saturday. This month's kit features the lovely Jillibean Soup Cold Avocado. There are also a number of add ons that coordinate with kit as well which you can find here.

I used my Cameo for this first project cutting the hexagons out of the card stock then backing the spaces with patterned paper. The larger hexagons are from the sticker sheet included in the kit.

The CT was asked to showcase the flashcards included in the kit so this layout is all about the flashcards! The words preprinted on them make them very versatile for many layout topics.

The green hexagons on this layout are done with a Studio Calico mask and Art Anthology Dimensional paint. The flowers are one of the kit add ons and the colours are perfect for these patterned papers. In hindsight I should have moved the flashcard down a smudge so you can clearly see that it reads "snapshot".

I also created a couple of cards and this first one was made with the small stamps included in the kit. I placed a number of them on an acrylic all at once then stamped multiple times to create a background.

I've seen this next idea for a Christmas card on Pinterest and wanted to try it. I may make a few more of these as they are super quick and easy.

You can check out all the Creative Team projects in the Scrap Shotz Gallery

It's Been Awhile

I haven't had a chance to get here to post for some time. I'm going to work my hardest to change that ;)))

We've wrapped up baseball for the year now so there will be more evening time and as the kids settle in to the school routine, I will have a chance to settle myself in to a routine here at home too.
There are a couple of rooms that I want to reorganize along with my scrappy supplies. A trip to Ikea is in my future :).

The Scrap Shotz Creative Team revealed our October kit projects last week and here are my projects:

I used up all the patterned paper except for 1 piece :)

You can see what the entire creative team did here.

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

I don't consider myself a cardmaker so tackling card making challenges are a great way for me to stretch myself creatively and build up a stash of handmade cards.
We are having a World Cardmaking Day Mini Crop at Scrap Shotz right here so pop in and play along!

Here's a card I made for a Scrap Shotz Design Team challenge to get in a card frame of mind ;))
