*New* SOUS Project Life Challenge

Hello and thanks for dropping in for another Stuck On U Sketches Project Life Challenge.

Your challenge this week is to add TEXTURE.

{PL design A page protectors, SN@P Cards, American Crafts Clementine Core Kit}

The upper left hand card has 2 examples of texture. I mixed Teresa Collins Basically Essential Modeling Paste with AC Wow Extra Fine Aqua Glitter and applied to a 4x6 piece of light aqua card stock using a Teresa Collins stencil. I've added more texture by embossing the blue cardstock flag and layering that on the stencilled cardstock.
I really like that these challenges provide a great opportunity to play with some techniques that I don't use a bunch on a small scale. It's not so stressful working with a little used on a small scale ;))

I hope you'll play along with this PL challenge or any of the June SOUS challenges to be entered to win some blog candy from our June sponsor

any 3 sets from the store

Once again, thanks for stopping by :)

**New** SOUS PROJECT LIFE CHALLENGE!

Hello and thanks for stopping by for the latest Stuck On U Sketches Project Life Challenge!

I don't think I can say it enough times, this challenge is helping me keep on track with Project Life and feel like each week isn't the "same-old, same-old".

So, here is Week 17 incorporating this challenge:

{supplies: PL Midnight Core Kit, Thickers, Prima Gems, butterflies Jenni Bowlin Studio}
One of my favorite things about this spread is the yellow arrow I created out of cardstock to point out my little guy among the group of kids in the photo.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to play along with this or any other June SOUS challenge for a chance to win a prize from our fabulous June sponsor

*New***Stuck On U Sketches***Project Life Challenge

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for stopping by to see the latest and greatest Project Life challenge from SOUS

This is a fun challenge, so easy to implement into your PL, here's my week 16 spread:

I chose a 4x6 diagonal striped filler card from the Project Life Seafoam core kit. I also created my own stripes using patterned paper scraps on the upper left 4x6 filler card. The patterned paper and stickers are My Mind's Eye. My journal card is an index card I cut down to fit the pocket, so you can see how easy it is to create a pocket page layout with non-PL specific product.

Scrap Shotz May Kit Reveal!!!!

Hello!!
This post is coming late, my apologies, this month's kit reveal conincided with the Scrap Shotz NSD crop so I was a "mad scrapper" working on projects for both events.

The May Scrap Shotz kit features the "Suave" line by Authentique:

Click on the link above to see the kit details.

This first project is based on our creative team sketch created by Jess Duerksen and just happens to be my May Design Team challenge sample:

The "good times" title is one of the new Tim Holtz shadow press embossing folders that I inked with distress ink and then ran through my Vagabond. The green dots are made with a Tim Holtz stencil and Art Anthology dimensional paint. My May Design Team challenge uses the stencil so feel free to click on the link and play along with us at the Scrap Shotz forum :).

These bookmarks feature the Taylored Expressions "Mark Your Spot" stamp  and the Tim Holtz Frameworks die in addition to the May Scrap Shotz kit. I die cut the tags with a Tim Holtz die and inked with vintage photo Distress Ink.

This layout showcases our May feature product, the die cut stars. I used the "super" star as a mask to mist over the patterned paper background, I applied Glossy Accents to the letters of the "super" die cut as well as filling in the negative space on the misted die cuts themselves.

The mini-hexagon border is a die-version die?? I can't find it in the store so I am guessing, please email me if you want to know for sure and I will get you the info asap :). This is a super simple card but it does the job! The sentiment is peel-off words from Elizabeth Craft.

This paper was perfect for some nature photos from the Coulee running behind our home and the kit alphas add the perfect pop of colour!

You can see what the entire design team created in the Scrap Shotz Gallery

Thanks for taking a look :))

*NEW SOUS* Project Life Challenge

Happy Belated {inter} National Scrapbook Day!

Welcome to the latest Project Life challenge from Stuck On U Sketches
We have a new sponsor for May so welcome and thank you to

Play in ANY May challenge here to be entered to win
$15 store voucher to Paper Bakery Kits!
Thank you Paper Bakery for your generosity!

Now on to our Project Life challenge:

and here is my week 15 layout:

{supplies: Project Life Seafoam core kit; wood veneer unknown; washi tape Teresa Collins & unknown from stash}

It is tough to see from the photo but the journal card and the lower left filler card are both grid cards from Project Life core kits. I was in need of another filler card and made my own "grid" with washi tape for the top right 4x6 card. I like the soft blues and gray with the brighter colours in the photos.
It's fun pulling out some not often used items from my stash like the wood veneer bicycle and the washi tape. I also accented a few spaces on my homemade grid card with Elizabeth Craft Designs glitter dots and finished off the "title" card with Thickers and a Dear Lizzy roller stamp.

Oh how I long for some better weather to inspire me to take more photos for my PL, if you're feeling like me and also feeling like you have the "same old" kind of photos each week, don't get discouraged and give up. Just choose a few photos that speak to you and fill the rest of the pockets with journaling from yourself or even other family members
If that still doesn't inspire you to keep going with your PL, embrace this SOUS PL challenge and go back to our previous PL challenges if you haven't done them and incorporate them in your spread as your filler cards. You'll be happy you stuck with it by the end of the year, I promise!!

Thanks for stopping by!

*New Project Life Challenge* Stuck On U Sketches

Happy Easter and welcome to the newest SOUS Project Life challenge...

I have quite a number of stamps but don't seem to use them much so I had lots to choose from for this challenge and really enjoyed using them on a PL spread.

supplies: Project Life Seafoam core kit, Elle's Studio 4x6 journal card, MME washi tape Kate&Co; stamps Tim Holtz and Pink Paislee; alphas Thickers AC

I have not been very motivated to pull out my camera lately, maybe it's the never ending winter so I have not had very many photos to use. That's where these challenges are so useful as I automatically have a pocket filled in my spread. The journal card I added strips of washi tape to uses a Pink Paislee stamp that says "captured moments photographs. I also added a couple of the Tim Holtz # stamps to the title card and just like that, DONE!
I just started a photography class over at Big Picture Classes so I should have more photos for future spreads ;)).

Don't forget to link us up to your project at SOUS for this challenge or any of the April challenges for a chance to a $30 certificate to their shop from this month's sponsor:

Scrap Shotz April Kit Reveal!!

Hello...I am a little behind on my posting so this reveal happened a couple of weeks ago now. The April Scrap Shotz kit featured the super popular "Plus One" line by Amy Tan for American Crafts.

The kit is sold out so if you want to ensure you get your hands on a monthly kit sign up as a kit subscriber!
On to my projects for this month, this is a fun line to work with, lots of great colours and patterns.

This black and white paper is a great neutral for the happy cardstock colours in this kit.

Those honeycomb die cuts are a fabulous Tim Holtz Frameworks die. The today clip is magnetic and since I did not adhere it to the cardstock I can take it off and use it on my fridge ;))

The house pattern and top grey strip are pre-printed on this paper, I added the "love" and "...happy place" journal cards and accented with another Frameworks die including using a couple of the inside pieces.
This was a fun layout, I used rub-ons, journal cards, flowers and a chalkboard label from the kit in addition to the kit patterned paper. I finished it off with a wee bit of hand stitching, mist and a sweep of gelatos on the corners.
A couple of different patterns on this accented by a pop of yellow and those great SC stars from the kit. It's hard to see that I added a camera rub-on on the chalkboard label and accented with one of the kit gems.
This is my favorite layout from this month, just punched a bunch of circles with a 1 3/4" and 2" punch and scattered around the black card stock. I used the white pen included in the kit to pen stitch around some of the circles and embellished some circles with the kit embellies and the add on fabric brads.

Some quick and easy cards finished off my projects for the month.
You can check out what the entire design team created at the Scrap Shotz gallery.

Thanks for looking!

Stuck On U Sketches Project Life Challenge

It's time for the latest SOUS Project Life challenge and we have a new sponsor for this month's challenge as well. More on that later ;).

This month's challenge is:

and what exactly is that? It is this:

Here is my page:
The top note shape is the frame on the filler card in the upper left. It is a piece of Fancy Pants chipboard from "The Good Life" collection. I haven't taken many photos the last few weeks so I combined two weeks on this and added some extra journaling reviewing what's kept us all occupied the last few weeks. I don't stress about not having many photos, I actually like that I've included more journaling on this page.

I hope you'll play along with our challenge, we're thrilled to have
as our sponsor this month. Complete this Project Life challenge or any of the April SOUS challenges and you have a chance to win $30 to spend at Scrapbook Circle

Another SOUS Project Life Challenge!

Hello everyone, it's that time again...a new Project Life challenge is up at Stuck On U Sketches.

This challenge was timely for me as I had just finished punching out butterflies for a project for my kindergartener son so I had some extras on hand ;) .

I placed the small butterflies in the white space of an appointment reminder and carried a few upwards through two of the photos. The large butterfly is two chipboard pieces from Maya Road, the bottom solid butterfly is covered with white Art Anthology dimensional crystal paint. The "overlay" butterfly is misted with Dylusions mist and topped with Perfect Pearls mist.
I carried on the butterfly theme with the butterfly patterned paper I found in my stash.

Don't forget we've got a great prize up for grabs from our March Sponser:

Submit your project for this Project Life Challenge or any March SOUS challenge for a chance to win!

Stuck On U Sketches Project Life Challenge

Welcome to the latest and greatest SOUS Project Life Challenge.  We have a new prize up for grabs this month so submit your project for this challenge or any SOUS March challenge for a chance to win this

Head to the SOUS blog to add your project!

Now on to the challenge, this is a fun one especially if you're an 80's girl like me, it's to use
 NEON
and here is my week 7 spread
It's a bit tricky to  tell that the letter stickers are neon yellow but trust me they are ;).
The letter stickers and the washii tape strips on 2 photos are products by Heidi Swapp.
One of the things I like to do is to use the open spaces on photos for accents, journaling, etc. That is why I chose to add the neon washii tape to the photos. I also used one strip of washii tape to journal on.

Thanks for stopping by this week and I look forward to seeing your PL challenge projects!
